E-Sahaayataa – Step by Step Guideline to Use

E-Sahaayataa is one of the helpful step taken by the ICAI for resolving problems for CA Students & CA Members. E-Sahaayataa is the portal for direct communication with ICAI for both member as well as students. The best thing about this portal is its speed. If you share request with this portal to ICAI then it will be resolved within 48 hours on priority basis and sometime in even less than 24 hours.

I have also used this portal many times for my personal issues. For example after becoming Chartered Accountant i forget to mention my Job Occupation in my membership form. I realizes this error after one month from date of receiving my Membership number. Then I just write my issue on E-Sahaayataa that I have joined so and so Company from this date, with so & so position and you will not believe that within 48 Hours I received a letter from ICAI giving intimation to my company regarding my request and accepting & updating my job information in their database.

Go to website www.icai.org



Scroll down and click on  E-Sahaayataa under Students Column as shown in fig. below.



Click on Post a query button. The next button will be useful after posting a query to check its status with ICAI.




On the next screen you have to select your level i.e whether you are Member or a Student Or any other person and then click CONFIRM.




On the next screen you have to select your Region etc and have to write your quesry in simple words. You can select the priority on this screen as medium, normal or high.




Thats all you have to do. After this you will receive a query recieving message and a E-mail in your mail inbox stating your Grievance Number (after verification), type etc.

 Frequently Asked Question on E-Sahaayataa

1. How to post grievances?

Please access the link help.icai.org and Select option entitled Post your Grievances. Thereafter select who are you? Member,Student or Other?

2. Whether Membership number and Date of Birth has to be provided for Validation?

For Members the Validation of Membership number using Date of Birth is mandatory.

3. What happens in case of Students and Others?

After submission of the Grievance an Alert mail is sent to the E-Mail ID.When such mail is opened and url is selected then Grievance number is generated. The Grievance number so generated is also emailed.

4. What happens if we do not get alert mails?

Sometimes auto generated mails moves to the Spam or Bulk mail segment, you may access the mails from there.

5. Is Grievance System has built in Escalation Mechanism?

The Grievance System has the Escalation Levels set right from the Level 1 for the desk level users upto the level of Secretary’s, Vice President, President’s Office.

6. What happens to the Grievance when the same is resolved ?

The mail alert is sent to the email ID.

7. What Happens when any user is not Satisfied with the response?

The Grievance can be reopened by using the link provided in the mail.

8. How to check status of Grievance online?
